Voting Information Annual Town Election--March 28, 2017

Here is information on all things related to the Annual Town Election which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 28, 2017.


Election Day


March 28, 2017
Polls open 7:00 am - 8:00 pm
Every polling location will provide visually impaired voters an accessible option for voting. Please see the Warden at your location.

Offices to be voted on during the Annual Town Election


  • Two members of the Board of Selectmen for 3 year terms
  • Two members to the School Committee for 3 year terms
  • One member to the Board of Assessors for a 3 year term
  • One member to the Planning Board for a 5 year term
  • One member to the Board of Health for a 3 year term
  • Two members to the Recreation and Parks Commission for 3 year terms
  • One Constable for a 2 year term
  • At least 64 Town Meeting Members (There are at least 6 positions in each precinct and some have more than that)

Specific Information  about running for Town Meeting


  • Click here for a chart detailing current vacancies for Town Meeting.  The number of candidates filing includes any incumbents who have returned their intent to run and any new candidates who have returned nomination papers to the Town Clerk's office. This chart will be updated but contains information as of January 19, 2017
  • Please note the following deadlines: 
    • Incumbent Town Meeting Members must return their intent to run to the Town Clerk's office by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, January 31
    • New Town Meeting Members must return nomination papers to the Town Clerk's office by 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 7.  
    • Nomination papers are available now and require ten (10) signatures of registered voters in your precinct

Please call the Town Clerk's Office at (508) 647-6430 X4 if you have any questions regarding nomination papers

  • Nomination Papers for Town wide offices and Town Meeting are available in the Town Clerk's Office
  • A voter interested in taking out Nomination Papers should come to the Town Clerk's office
  • 25 Signatures are required on Nomination Papers for Town wide offices. Nomination papers for these offices are due to the Board of Registrars in the Town Clerk's office by 5 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017
  • Town Meeting nomination papers require only 10 signatures and are due to the Board of Registrars in the Town Clerk's office by 5 PM on Tuesday, February 7, 2016

Voter Registration


Last day to register to vote for the Annual Town Election is Wednesday, March 8, 2017. The Town Clerk's office will be open until 8:00 pm.  To check if registered click here or call the Town Clerk's office at 508-647-6430 x4.  Making sure that you are registered before election day will help make your voting experience smoother.

There are three ways to register to vote:
  1. Online - Secretary of the Commonwealth's website (Must have valid MA Drivers license or state ID)
  2. Download voter registration form and mail to the Town Clerk's office, 13 East Central Street, Natick, MA 01760
  3. In Person - Town Clerks Office (Mon.-Wed 8:00am - 5:00pm, Thurs. 8:00am - 7:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 12:30pm)

Absentee Voting (There will not be any Early Voting for this election)


According to the Secretary of the Commonwealth, a voter may vote absentee for the following reasons:
  • Absence from the voter's city or town on Election Day; or
  • Physical disability that prevents you from going to the polls; or
  • Religious belief that prevents you from going to the polls
An absentee ballot application may be requested by either the voter themselves or a family member of the voter, both having unique applications.  They are:
Once the Town Clerk's office receives the application, a absentee ballot will be mailed to the address provided. Ballots may NOT be picked up at the Clerk's Office.
