Bagels with BOS (Board Of Selectman)
Once a month sit and enjoy a fresh bagel and speak with one of our Natick Selectmen. Get to know our town representatives. Bagels & Coffee provided by Whitney Place Assisted Living Residences.

Computer Class Instruction
We now offer several classes in computer learning. The offerings include Introduction to Windows, Word Processing, and Internet Basics. If you are interested in taking computer classes please call the Community-Senior Center to have your name placed on the list for the next available class. Call 1-508-647-6540.

Learn how to operate a computer or to sharpen your existing skills. Surf the web and send letters to your family. Our dedicated and skilled teachers are here to help you.

Meet with Your State Representative
Each month you have the opportunity to meet with both Rep. David Linsky and Rep. Alice Peisch. They want to hear from you. They work for you, come and meet them. Share your thoughts, ideas and concerns.

Moment with Moira
A once a month opportunity to share your thoughts and idea's with our Director Moira Munns. She usually has a subject that is of a timely nature, but she is open to all subjects and concerns. Come and share your ideas, compliments, complaints or just to talk.

Games of Skill & Chance

Bingo
Also called Fun & Games. Groups of 50 or more meet twice a week for games. Players must be a member of the "Friends of the Natick Senior Center, Inc."
Days & Time is: Every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:45 P.M.

Chess
The Metro West Chess Club meets at the Natick Community-Senior Center one evening a week. All levels of players are welcome. For more information call (508) 620-7647.
Day & Time: Tuesdays at 7:00 P.M.

Contract Bridge
Intermediate level play and occasional instruction (Class series offered 3-4 times a year). Tables are made up from players who show up. More players always welcome.
Day & Time: Thursdays at 9:00 A.M.

Duplicate Bridge
For experienced players who can hold their own in a highly competitive environment.
Day & Time: Wednesdays at 12:30 P.M.

Mah Jong

Pool/Billiards

Two regulation tables are available. Men play Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Women play Wednesdays at 1:00 P.M. Tables are open at other times for anyone to use.
Day & Time : Monday thru Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

Scrabble
This group meets every week to share their mutual love of word play and Scrabble.
Day & Time: Monday afternoons at 1:00.


Exercise, Health and Wellness

Bereavement Group -
Support group for adults of all ages who have lost a loved one within the past three years.
Day & Time: Usually the fourth Thursday of the month at 1:00. Please call for next group meeting time.

Chair Aerobics -
Get in shape, join this vigorous beginners exercise session which will use most muscles of your body and a cardio workout as well—all while sitting securely in a chair.
Tuesday Chair Aerobics #1:This class is being led by instructor John Vernon, formerly of Easy Motions
Day & Time: Tuesdays @ 11:00: $2. per class, ongoing, uses Multi-class Exercise Card. ($20 for a card for 10 classes)

Chair Volleyball
Free- Group Exercise. Chair Volleyball is a modified version of regular volleyball. The game is played with an inflatable beach ball and all players must remain seated while the game is in play. A great team activity, which can improves upper body mobility, balance and strength
Day & Time: Schedule varies, usually meets as follows: Monday @ 12:00, Wednesdays & Fridays @ 10:30.

Diabetic Support Group
For people who have Diabetes, this group offers a wealth of information and support that is aimed at empowering people deal with their disease more effectively. This group is facilitated by a LICSW and utilizes educational tools and group experiences as well as occasional guest speakers.
Day & Time: Usually the second OR third Tuesday's @10:00. Please call for next meeting time.
Fit & Firm
Weekly exercise group uses chairs and floor mats to perform non-aerobic stretching and flexibility exercises.
Day & Time: Tuesdays at 10:00 A.M.

Gardening
Our Senior Community Garden is planted each year and we are looking for anyone interested in gardening. If you are able to donate vegetable plants, plant, water, or weed the garden we would love to have your help! You will be able to take home some of the beautiful fresh produce that you helped to grow!

NEW Winners
Come Join! Be a NEW Winner! This free 6 week program will be a fun-filled, active and personal journey of Nutrition, Exercise and Wellness, and will be Co- Facilitated by Nutritionist Joan Hill, RD,CDE, LD and Sheralee Gladu, a Certified Exercise Instructor. My Life My Health
My Life, My Health is a chronic disease self-management workshop that was developed by the School of Medicine at Stanford University.  Adults of any age who have chronic health issues, such as fibromyalgia, asthma, depression, arthritis, heart or lung conditions, back pain, diabetes or any other chronic condition, as well as people who care for someone with a chronic health problem are invited to attend. Topics covered will include: techniques to deal with problems such as frustration, fatigue, pain and isolation; appropriate exercises for maintaining and improving strength, flexibility, and endurance; appropriate use of medications; communicating effectively with family, friends, and health professionals; nutrition; and how to evaluate new treatments.

Open Gym
Join us for open gym time at the Senior Center. Any age is welcome but there is no direct supervision or organized program.  We have basketballs here or bring you can bring your own equipment.  

Podiatry Clinic
Once a month we are able to offer the services of Podiatrist  Dr T. Douglas John. He will do routine foot care, call for further guidelines and cost. By appointment only, please call.
Day & Time: 1 Wednesday morning per month, please call for current months exact date.

SHINE
Certified volunteer counselors provide information, counseling, and other assistance on health insurance options for seniors citizens and other Medicare beneficiaries on a twice weekly basis. Prescheduled appointments are requested. Call 1-508-647-6540 to make an appointment.

Strength Training Class
Strength training is an essential component to any workout program. It increases the amount of muscle you have, which in turn helps to increase your overall metabolism. Strength classes are appropriate for all levels of fitness.  This class will use elastic bands and hand held weights. This class is being led by instructor Sheralee Gladu,

T'ai Chi
The graceful movements of the T'ai Chi will transport you to a place of calm within yourself. Loosen up all those achy joints, stretch those muscles, and improve your balance and concentration. For information call the Natick Senior Center at (508) 647-6540

Video Exercise
A small, intimate group meets to exercise with Richard Simmons and other video exercise leaders.

Walking Program, Natick Walking Connection
What a great opportunity to make friends and enjoy the outdoors (or indoors if raining)!  Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water to walk at your own pace on trails around Natick. Please call to sign up and discover our walking locations 508-647-6540.  New members welcome!
Every member will receive a free pedometer for their first 10,000 steps with the program (about 3 walks with the group).
Day & Time: Tuesdays and Fridays at 8:30am, met at the Natick Mall for the winter. Enter through the main mall door inbetween Crate and Barrel and Californiat Pizza Kitchen.

Water Exercise Classes, "Gentle Joints"
Cost is $60 (no need to be a Longfellow member).
Gentle Joints Plus Water class is a 6 week exercise class in the deep end of the pool with a buoyancy belt (no need to know how to swim) which allows for gentle non-impact exercise, increased range of  motion and elongation on the spine. It will be a moderately paced cardiovascular and muscle conditioning class focusing on flexibility and increase range of motion. Great for beginners, those with injuries or arthritis, and anyone looking for gentle but effective exercises. The class format is 15 minute warm-up emphasizing range of motion and large muscle group warm up, 25-30 minute cardio involving deep water jog and other movements, 15-20 minute strength/muscle conditioning and cool down.  It is suggested that participants arrive early to change into swimsuits in locker rooms. The seniors will be met on the first day of class and showed the facilities. This is a special reduced rate class for community residing seniors who are non-members at Longfellow Sports Club. Members can attend regularly scheduled class. You will be asked to complete a fitness profile and get an okay from your physician for Longfellow.

Yoga
A very popular weekly exercise program. Instructor led stretching and positioning to facilitate mind-body synthesis and well-being. The suggested donation is $2.00

Zumba
What is Zumba? Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique movements that fuses Latin and International music. This is an ongoing class so you can start it at any time!  Don’t get left out of this  fun program. This class is being led by certified Zumba Gold instructor Sheralee Gladu

Literature, Music & Art

Beaded Jewelry
Do you like to make jewelry, but don’t have all the supplies?  Do you want to join some other people who love to make beaded jewelry? Come to our drop-in beaded jewelry making programs! You can come and make your own beaded jewelry creations including earrings, bracelets, necklaces, etc.  All materials will be provided. There will be a modest charge per item made and taken.  Sign up is  requested so we can have an idea of number of attendees, but not required. Assistance will be available, but this is not a formal class.

Chorale Singing Group - Goldenaires
Do you love to sing? Would you like to join others and bring that love of music  to people in nursing homes? Or do you want to get together with other folks who just like to sing? If yes than come to join us. The Goldenaires choral group meets weekly for practice or performances in Metro West.

Knitting
Each week a dedicated and talented group of women come together to knit, crochet, and share friendship. Many of their creations are sold each year to help raise money for the Friends, or are donated to local charities. All levels are welcome. Quilting
If you love to create works of art with fabric, or if you have always wanted to make a quilt, this is a group for you.  All levels are welcome.

Watercolor / Sketching
Every week a very talented group of artists gather to share their latest art projects, questions, idea's and experience. We have volunteer instructors, who are themselves talented artists, who are eager to share their knowledge, critiques and enthusiasm. Whether a beginner or experienced artist come and make some new friends.

Writers' Guild
A diverse group of individuals who like to write and meet weekly to share and discuss their poems, short stories, and other creative pieces. For new and experienced writers.
