    Calling All Romance Readers! We’re having another awesome online auction! Its a Swag Bag Auction with contributions from over 50 of the best romance authors out there! In keeping with our themes of literacy and diversity, we have romance authors from many sub-genres including historical, paranormal. erotic, romantic suspense, inspirational, young adult, LGBTQ and contemporary. Something for every romance reader ?? Swag is anything that an author might have on hand as well as some creative ideas that their fans will love. We have signed books, totes, pens, mugs, audiobooks, bookmarks, etc. But, we also have the opportunity for the winner’s name to be in the author’s next book, handmade lotions, ARCs (advanced reader copies) and so much more. The online auction link to ebay will be available on Sunday Oct. 22nd. Can’t wait!!!!

  2. Field Trip to Walden Woods

    In conjunction with the Morse Institute Library, we’re celebrating the Bicentennial of the birth of Henry David Thoreau (1817-2017)! We’re going to meet at Walden Woods and have a private tour of Thoreau’s Library – This is a session with the Walden Woods Project’s Curator of Collections, author and Thoreau scholar, Jeffrey S. Cramer, in the Thoreau Institute Library. The library maintains the most comprehensive body of Thoreau-related material available in one place. Mr. Cramer will provide an introduction to Thoreau and the era in which he lived, and will discuss Thoreau’s life and writings as they relate to historical items on display in the library.

    Then, we will visit the iconic place that has become synonymous with Thoreau—Walden Pond. Taking place at the Walden Pond State Reservation (WPSR). About 1/3 of the way around the Pond, we visit the original site of Thoreau’s house.

    Space is limited and Registration is required.

    If you are comfortable with the basics and want to improve your game, Intermediate bridge is for you. A fun and friendly group learns and practices the next level of the game including negative doubles, new minor forcing, defensive carding, opening leads and much more. Sessions include instruction and discussion followed by play where questions are encouraged. If you enjoy the challenge of bridge and want to get better, join us.   2. Care Giving for Loved Ones with Alzheimer’s

    Join us for the 6 week session to gain tools to care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s. This Evidence-Based program presented by Baypath with be part lecture with a powerpoint presentation, part discussion and interactive. Pre-registration required. The Savvy Caregiver program originated from the Minnesota Family Workshop (MFW) which was aimed to improve outcomes for family caregivers and the persons with dementia through a multidimensional training approach provided to primary caregivers and other family members. Evidence supporting the efficacy of the Savvy Caregiver program has been well documented. Caregivers reported structuring meaningful activities for the person with dementia. This program is designed for people who are actively caring for a loved-one with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia-related illness. Focus is on building knowledge about the disease and skills needed for effective caregiving, getting support, and practicing self-care.
