Jewelry Buyback
Take your old or broken gold jewelry to Southwick Fine Jewelry Consignment (5 South Avenue, Natick, 508-653-5900). They will pay you the full value of what your gold is worth and donate an additional 50% of that price to the Friends of Natick Senior Center, Inc. So... if your gold is worth $50, you will get $50 and the Friends will get a check for $25. You will need to show your Friends membership card at the time you bring in your gold.
GoodSearch
The Friends of the Natick Senior Center can earn money every time you search the Internet or make a purchase at many online stores! GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities its users designate. Use it just as you would any search engine, and watch the donations add up!
GoodShop
GoodShop.com is a new way to shop online which donates up to 30% of each purchase to the Friends! Hundreds of great stores including Amazon, Target, Apple, Staples, Expedia, Gap, Best Buy, eBay, Macy's and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop and every time you place an order, you'll be supporting the Friends!
GoodSearch/Shop Toolbar
If you download the GoodSearch – Friends of the Natick Senior Center toolbar, it is simple to use their search box to find the websites and shops you are looking for. The Friends will earn money every time you shop or search online when you use this toolbar. Add the toolbar at http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/friends-of-the-natick-senior-center
Planet Aid
Do you have extra clothes or shoes that you are willing to donate? Donate through Planet Aid and the Friends will receive 2 cents for every pound donated! Our Planet Aid collection bin is located in the back of our parking lot at 90 Oak Street.
The clothes are resold to raise funds for development projects such as schools, health programs including HIV/AIDS prevention, and food security programs in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Penny Jug
There is a penny jug that sits quietly in our main hallway waiting for visitors to drop in their change. All denominations are welcome!
All change dropped into this jug goes directly into the Friends new building fund. Don’t you have some change that you could add?
Ink Cartridge Collection (Coming Soon!)
Please donate your used, or unused ink cartridges to the Senior Center. There is a collection box located at the Senior Center and other locations to be listed soon. The Senior Center gets paid to collect cartridges and send them off to be recycled.
We also collect donations for others:
Cell Phones for Soldiers
Since 2004, Cell Phones for Soldiers has been there to help our soldiers overseas call home by providing pre-paid phone cards.
Donated cell phones are recycled by ReCellular, which pays Cell Phones for Soldiers for each donated phone - enough to provide one hour of talk time to soldiers serving overseas. Cell Phones for Soldiers addresses the everyday emotional need to phone home and hear a familiar voice. Please stop by the Senior Center to donate your used cell phone today. Our soldiers will be thankful that you did.
Natick Food Pantries
The two Natick food pantries are always looking for donations of food and toiletries to stock their shelves. If you could donate any current items they would appreciate it.
Operation Stand Down
Please help Natick Human Services & Council on aging support homeless veterans in Boston! Our Veterans' Agent, Paul Carew, is collecting travel sized personal grooming items and white socks for Operation Stand Down. Ends August 19th, 2011.
Box Tops for Education
We are a collection point for Box Tops for Education which helps fund our local schools. If you find a Box Top on your food please bring it in and drop it in the box.
Lions Recycle For Sight
We help the Lions Club of Natick recycle glasses to help other see better. If you have a pair of old, unused glasses feel free to drop them by and donate to the less fortunate.
