About:
The memorial, dedicated in 1901, honors Henry Wilson, who came to Natick as a young man, learned to make shoes, and eventually became U.S. Senator and U.S. Vice President. The site includes a “10-footer,” a shed for making shoes once common in the area; shoe-making equipment from the period; and a bell from the original Henry Wilson School.  In 2001, as part of Natick’s 350th anniversary celebrations, the 10-footer was extensively renovated.
