Zoning Board of Appeals and Planning Board Applications

The Planning Board and the Zoning Board of Appeals are Special Permit Granting Authorities (SPGA) as defined in Section VI-DD of the Natick Zoning By-Law. The Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) hears appeals of Building Commissioner's decisions as well as requests for Section 6 Findings (under MGL c.40A), Variances from dimensional zoning requirements, and,in certain zoning districts, Special Permits and Site Plan Reviews. The Planning Board hears applications for Special Permits, Site Plan Reviews and Subdivision Plans (under MGL c.41.81k). 

Both boards conduct public hearings where applicants present proposals, testimony is heard and findings are made regarding relief being sought. All business of these boards is conducted during public meetings and agendas are posted at the City Clerk's Office and online at the Community & Economic Development Department's web page.
