Important Travel Information for Massachusetts

Governor Bakers Administration’s announced that effective August 1st, all travelers entering Massachusetts—both out of state residents and Massachusetts residents returning home—must comply with a new travel order. This includes students returning to campuses for the fall semester. *

*The new travel order requires all visitors and returning residents to fill out a “Massachusetts Traveler Form” unless they are coming from a state that has been designated a lower risk COVID-19 state or fall into an exemption category. The new travel order also provides that visitors and returning residents arriving in Massachusetts from any place other than a COVID-19 lower-risk state must quarantine for 14-days unless they can produce a negative COVID-19 test result administered on a sample taken not more than 72-hours prior to arriving in Massachusetts.

Governor Baker announced today that he signed an “Executive Order” mandating that everyone over the age of 2 years old must wear a face covering such as mask or bandana in any public setting where it is difficult to maintain social distancing.  This includes all types of retail stores, not just grocery based stores. The order does include some exemptions for individuals with underlining medical conditions where a face covering would impair their ability to breathe.  The order is in full effect.

Massachusetts has entered into the most critical time in our fight to overcome this pandemic. Now, it is extremely imperative to stress the importance of practicing social distancing, proper hand-washing for 20 seconds, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth areas, and at all possible stay home. We reach out to the entire community and ask you to do the right thing to protect yourself, loved ones and potential contacts.

Governor Baker has recommended everyone wear a face covering such as mask or bandanna out in a public setting where it is difficult to maintain social distancing.  We support this recommendation especially now. With everyone’s cooperation, we will get through this together.
