Placemaking
Creative placemaking harnesses art, culture, design and planning to preserve and enhance the vitality of neighborhoods and communities. Placemaking incorporates publicly-accessible art and cultural events to make Natick's commercial districts more welcoming, useful and attractive to all.
Natick has focused its placemaking on its downtown, embarking on the Natick Center Placemaking Strategy in 2018 in partnership with the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC). This initiative developed inclusive, community-based planning processes to guide the practical use of art to enhance Natick Center for residents and visitors. These groundbreaking methods will be used to infuse art into Natick's other commercial districts .
