Birth, Marriage & Death Certificates

General Information
You may get certified copies of a birth, death, or marriage certificate either by coming to the office in person or by sending a written request by mail. If sending a request by mail please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope with the request. The following information must be provided:
  • Name on the record
  • Date of the event
  • Type of certificate (birth, death or marriage)
  • A telephone number where you can be reached in case there is a problem
Certified copies are $10 each. We accept cash or checks and checks should be made payable to: Town of Natick.

All birth certificates issued by this office are acceptable for passport applications and for all other purposes.

Birth Certificates
Birth certificates are filed in the city / town of the birth and the city / town where the parents resided at the time of the birth. For example, if you were born at the Newton Wellesley Hospital and your parents lived in Natick, the birth certificate would be on file in Newton and in Natick.

Death Certificates
Death certificates are filed in the city / town where the death occurred and the city / town where the decedent resided.

Marriage Certificates
Marriage certificates are filed in the city /  town where the “Intention of Marriage” application was filed.
