PFAS Update: Advisory issued for Lake Cochituate fish consumption

Mercury, Chlordane and DDT Update: Advisory issued for Charles River (South Natick Dam) fish consumption

PCBs and Pesticides Update: Advisory issued for Charles River (South Natick Dam) fish consumption

  • Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) issued a fish consumption advisory across 13 freshwater bodies, including Lake Cochituate and Charles River (South Natick Dam).
  • Advisory tied to recent PFAS testing levels ("per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances"), Mercury, Chlordane, DDT, PCBs and Pesticides above DPH recommendations for fish consumption.
  • Natick Health Department staff will post signs at primary access points along Lake Cochituate and Charles River (South Natick Dam).

These advisories remain in effect until new information becomes available.
