Presented by Journalist and panelist on WGBH’s Beat the Press, Dan Kennedy
Wednesday, October 17, 2 pm, free
The newspaper business has been shrinking for more than two decades. The rise of Craigslist, Facebook and Google have hollowed out advertising revenues that supported newspapers since the 19th century. As newspapers close or dramatically downsize it raises a crucial question: who will provide the public with the information it needs to govern itself in a democratic society?
Northeastern University journalism professor Dan Kennedy addresses this question in his new book, The Return of the Moguls: How Jeff Bezos and John Henry Are Remaking Newspapers for the Twenty-First Century.
