The Town of Natick has two primary means of sending "updates" to residents, businesses, and other parties: emergency alerts and community notifications.

Emergency Alerts

Emergency Alerts are urgent updates tied to an immediate threat, these alerts are sent via a phone call (cell or landline) or text message, e.g. snow emergency, hazardous materials, or public safety incidents. Emergency alerts are managed by an external software vendor (Everbridge). These alerts are critical in nature, and the software enables the following:

Ability for Town staff to send mass communications - Resident and business contact info is made available via public databases (to reach over 50% of Natick residents) ** no action required **
Ability for residents to customize communications - This is an optional step (+ recommended) that allows residents and businesses to input verified information (including: verify/add contact info, customize subscribed alerts, etc.)

These notifications are informational news updates sent via email or sms ("text"), e.g. public meetings, roadwork projects, or general town-related, non-emergency matters. The following community notifications enable residents to subscribe to updates across a number of Natick topics. Choose what matters most to you and receive updates via email and/or phone.

	Community Preservation Act	This list will keep you informed about the Community Preservation Act (CPA) and related activities. The CPA is a state law passed in 2000 that allows Massachusetts communities to conduct a referendum to add a small surcharge on local property taxes.

	PROJECT: FlashVote (survey tool)	FlashVote is a survey tool to help gather public input on key issues. Sign-up to receive supplemental reports (in addition to automated reporting sent by FlashVote), as well as other relevant announcements.
	PROJECT: Johnson Future Use	A Town-led effort to determine the future use of the Johnson Elementary property.
	PROJECT: Main Street Improvements in Natick Center	The Town of Natick is working with engineering firm McFarland Johnson to study possible improvements for pedestrian and bicycle safety and mobility, as well as general wayfinding, lighting, and streetscape design along Main Street (Route 27) in Natick Center from Cottage Street to South Avenue.
	PROJECT: Pickerel Pond Connector Bridge	Updates and meeting information regarding the design and construction of a bridge/boardwalk structure to connect the 2 trail systems that service the Pickerel Pond Conservation Area.
	PROJECT: Water Main Replacement (Porter, Hardwick and Pelham Rd)	Receive updates in regards to this water main project that will include replacing aging water mains and water services along Porter Rd, Hardwick Rd and Pelham Rd from the intersection of Hartford St.
	PROJECT: West Central Corridor (WCC) Zoning District	A 12-month long effort to inform a MA state-level program to create diverse, mixed-use housing opportunities near the W. Natick MBTA Station
